SUNDOG BURNT ISLAND

OUTWARD BOUND

COURSE

We have teamed up with Hurricane Island Outward Bound School again this year to reduce tuition for a 5-Day Burnt Island Sailing and Rock Climbing Outward Bound course this summer!

And we want YOU to join us!

COURSE DETAILS:

  • Ages 13-15

  • July 10th-14th, 2026

  • 5 days, 4 nights

  • Up to $630 per person (tiered payment system explained below)

  • Course begins and ends at HIOBS Wheeler Bay Basecamp in Spruce Head, Maine

Join us for a 5-day backcountry experience at HIOBS’ Burnt Island basecamp, an ideal setting for a rewarding shared experience that promotes personal and collective belonging, teamwork, and reflection.

Skilled HIOBS instructors will guide participants through the basics of island camping, sailing and rowing in a 30' open pulling boat, rock climbing, service work, solo, and additional activities. Instructors will also model and support cooking and remote camp living, turning over responsibility to participants as the course progresses. The course's structure and curriculum will engage students in activities that strengthen student communication, test leadership skills, and deepen teamwork, group connection and belonging, all while supporting participants through challenges in new learning environments and encouraging them to understand that there is more in us than we realize.

TIERED PAYMENT SYSTEM:

Tuition is what is right for your family! Tiered payment details: Self-select additional financial aid by using code: SCHOLARSHIP15, SCHOLARSHIP30, or SCHOLARSHIP50, or SCHOLARSHIP75 at checkout and that percentage will be taken off tuition.
